A hypertext system consists of documents connected by hyperlinks – technology that enables you to move seemingly automatically from the document you are looking at to another, connected document. A hypertext document is therefore a document containing hyperlinks.

- Hyper complex? Well, not really. You can look at content (a book, for example) either in a linear manner, or you can proceed by jumping from one page to another, as you do on a website: that’s hypertext. But you could quite well be surfing the internet, connecting to blogs and social networking sites, without knowing what Hypertext means.
