Advergaming

The term advergaming covers all techniques that use games, and video games in particular, for advertising purposes. The advertiser might create a game on its website, for example, in which the key characters wear its company logo. It’s a subtle form of advertising that works especially well with the young and in B to C (business to consumer).

  • For the French Open tennis championship, IBM offered the chance to play a virtual tennis game over which they streamed, in real time, the scores from the French Open. Great for tennis addicts of the passive kind.
